Prepare the artwork for the press brief.
Screen printing is a production application supported by our vector and artwork redraw service. Use this guide to prepare a printer-led brief for digital artwork; physical printing is arranged with your production supplier.
Ask the printer for its requirements
Supply the intended print dimensions, garment colour, location and accepted file formats. If the printer needs separations or an underbase treatment, include its instructions when requesting a quote.
Clarify the colour approach
Identify whether the job uses spot colours, process printing or another agreed method. Provide colour references and ask the printer to confirm ink and substrate expectations.
Review fine detail before production
Thin lines, small gaps and tiny text may be difficult to reproduce. Ask the printer about minimum detail and halftone requirements for its mesh, inks and equipment.
Distinguish artwork from press approval
Digital preparation does not replace the printer’s production checks. Your print supplier should verify the supplied files and approve a sample or proof before the full run.
