3D Puff / VLEAD DESIGN SERVICES

Build dimension into the design.

3D puff is a specialist application within our embroidery digitizing service. Raised embroidery needs artwork with room for structure; this guide explains what your decorator should confirm before we prepare the stitch file.

Choose shapes that support dimension

Broad lettering and open, substantial shapes are often better candidates than fine text or intricate textures. Supply the actual decoration size so suitability can be assessed in context.

Separate raised and flat areas

Mark which elements should use foam and which should stay flat. This helps define the treatment of outlines, supporting text and mixed-effect designs before digitizing begins.

Coordinate with the decorator

Tell us the foam specification, cap or garment type and machine format. The production supplier should confirm materials and operating settings for its equipment.

Test the edges and finish

A sample should be checked for foam coverage, clean edges and acceptable height. Photograph any exposed foam or uneven areas to make revision feedback precise.

Common questions

Can every logo be converted to 3D puff?

No. Suitability depends on the shape, scale and available space. Fine details may need a flat treatment or an approved redesign.

Should I sample before a full run?

Yes. Foam, thread and equipment affect the finish, so your production provider should validate a sew-out first.
